Gary Jenkins

Dr. Gary Jenkins believes giving back means demonstrating love and concern for the community and being present to provide help when needed.

Being named a 2025 Community Champion is a humbling honor. “I don’t feel as though I’ve done anything worthy of such an honor,” he says.

Gary’s service spans decades and touches many lives. He has served as a volunteer police chaplain for eight years, providing prayer and spiritual support to officers and offering prayer at City Council meetings. He has led the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Center for the Concho Valley as board president, taught Bible classes to inmates at the Tom Green County Detention Center, and assisted tornado and flood victims with emergency shelter and FEMA resources, sharing critical information through his Christian TV network, Gospel America Television.

Since 1976, Gary has served in ministry, founding Eagles’ Wings International Ministries in San Angelo and ministering to families locally and globally, from Africa and Asia to the Caribbean and across the United States.

His guiding motto reflects his heart for service: “Too blessed to be stressed and too grateful to be hateful.”

Fun fact: Gary is about to publish his first book, Metamorphosis, on Amazon, adding author to his long list of contributions to the community.
