Eligibility

Those 65 and over at any income level, living on their own, but unable to prepare meals and without anyone there to cook during noontime hours qualify. Younger, disabled adults also may be eligible with a referral from a physician and a home visit from our Case Manager.

Application Process 

Individuals may contact Meals For The Elderly themselves or they may be referred to the agency by a health care provider, physician, family member, friend, or clergy. Meals For The Elderly services are available both short-term and long-term. Once the application has been received and is complete, meal service can begin as soon as three days.

Please NOTE: This program serves people living in Tom Green County, Texas and in Miles, Texas. If the person needing meals lives outside Tom Green County or Miles, please click here to find the appropriate meal delivery program. Meal Delivery Information

All meals are delivered by volunteers. Deliveries are made every Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Frozen breakfast sacks are provided on Monday along with sack lunches on Friday's for the weekend. Frozen meals will be delivered in advance for those holidays when Meals For The Elderly will be closed, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Areas of Service

Meals are delivered to San Angelo, as well as Carlsbad, Water Valley, Grape Creek, Wall, Mereta, Veribest, Orient, Harriet, Christoval, and Miles, TX.

Special Diet Information 

All meals are low sodium and low cholesterol. Diabetic meals are also available.

There are no fees, however, donations are welcome and encouraged.
