In addition to the normal weekday meal, a sack lunch is provided on Friday of each week to assist the recipients in getting through the weekend. Frozen meals are provided for recipients who depend solely on Meals For The Elderly for their meals.
Good nutrition helps improve the health and well-being of the elderly, and improves their quality of life. It is our goal to enable the elderly to live independently, in their own homes, for as long as possible. Recipients are over sixty years of age, live alone, and unable to prepare their own meals.

Today, Meals For The Elderly continues the mission that began 32 years ago. The program operates solely on contributions and receives no U.S. Government funding, and is not a United Way Agency. With the help of more than 2,100 volunteers, the program is able to deliver 500 meals each weekday at the remarkable low cost of $2.75 per meal. During the past 32 years, more than two million meals have been delivered and more than 8,900 different individuals have received these meals. Last year alone, Meals For The Elderly prepared and delivered more than 163,860 hot lunches and more than 26,384 sack lunches.
