Sporting Clay Shoot
A-- / A++

Our 13th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot will be our best and here's why....

The 2018 Sporting Clay Shoot sponsored by the giving hearts at CalTech, will be held on June 9, 2018 at the San Angelo Claybird Association.  We make it our mission to ensure each and every shooter we host will feel challenged while providing a laid-back shoot everyone could enjoy! We also pride ourselves on running this shoot as efficiently as possible, maximizing the fun and getting you on with your weekend. We value the time you spend with us helping homebound seniors!

Each year we recognize the top shooters of the red and green course, the top female shooter of either course and the top youth shooter. Congratulations to our top shooters last year, who were Steve Shackleford on Red with a 94 (of 100), Dan Thompson on Green with a 92, Tonya Brown as top female shooter with a 68, and Andrew Osbourne as top under 16 youth shooter with a 75.

This year’s shooter package includes one round of 100 targets on either the red or green course, breakfast (served at 7am), lunch (served at 11:30am), and a better than 1 in 10 chance to win big, details TBD. We gave away 18 prizes last year!! It truly does PAY to stick around. Registration is $165, but if you register now and pay in full before May 25th, you will only pay $150!

Remember to purchase some extra lunch tickets so you can bring the whole family next year! There will be plenty to do, as always, and a fabulous BBQ lunch not to be missed! Additional meal tickets are only $10, and that funds 3 meals for a senior in need. Our auction always follows closely after lunch and features one-of-a-kind items like gun accessories from Briley Manufacturing, Yeti Coolers, gorgeous knives, hunting gear, unique home decor, and more! Don't miss out!!

We will also raffle off a popular gun at the clay shoot, but we are still deciding which one… so check back or “like” us on Facebook so you know what the gun will be this year! In 2017 we raffled off an amazing sporting 12 gauge- a Winchester Super X3- sponsored in part by the Outdoorsman and Clint Harrison got to take it home. This year it could be you! Be sure to get plenty of raffle tickets before the shoot. Tickets can be purchased starting at our Mardi Gras event and from then on through our office or by contacting a Meals For The Elderly board member until we draw one lucky name on June 9th, at the conclusion of the shoot.

In 2017, both our 8am and 11am rotations filled up early, so take advantage of our advanced ticket discount and lock in your spot on our 8am or 11am rotation to make sure you have a spot!  We raised almost $60,000 for the mission and work at Meals For The Elderly thanks to our generous supporters from across the state. We invite you all to join us again next year!

Saturday, June 4th, 2016, Meals For The Elderly (MFTE) will host the 11th annual Sporting Clay Shoot
benefiting the homebound elderly at the San Angelo Claybird Association. The charity is challenging the
community’s shooting enthusiasts to out-give last year, helping the local non-profit raise funds to feed more
vulnerable, homebound seniors than ever in 2016. The charity serves over local seniors in Tom Green County.
Sponsorships, shooter registration, and auction donations are all currently being accepted for the event and all
proceeds benefit the over 700 seniors daily benefitting from the charity’s services.
Two 100 target courses are available during the event to shoot at 8am or 11am. All shooters have a chance to
win a HUGE prize – 1 of every 10 will win their choice of a $750 gift certificate to Field & Streams Sporting
Goods or $500 cash (must be present to win). This year’s live auction features everything from guns to camping
equipment and has something for anyone with a heart for the homebound elderly!
Raffle tickets can also be purchased at $10 each (or 5 for $40) for a chance to win a 12 gauge, Beretta A400
Xplor Action donated by The Outdoorsman, valued at $1,400 and participants need not be present to win.
Chances can be purchased by calling 325-655-9200, visiting or in person at 310 E.
Houston Harte.
Breakfast and shooter registration starts at 7am Saturday, June 4, and the first rotation begins promptly at 8am.
Registration costs $165 per shooter (only $150 if you register by May 13th!) and includes breakfast, lunch, and a
rotation of 100 targets. Trophies go to the top two shooters, top female shooter, and top youth shooter.
Guests or sponsors can register online at, call 325-655-9200, or register in
person at 310 E. Houston Harte Expressway in San Angelo TX. We are “aiming” to feed the elderly of Tom
Green County! Come join the fun!
