Check back in Fall of 2017 for details on our 29th Annual Event!!

On Sunday, December 11, 2016, Meals For The Elderly held the 28th Annual Christmas Open House, at the gorgeous, custom-built lakeside home of Randall & Kim Tucker here in San Angelo, TX.  Thank you to all who supported this event and especially to those who joined us! It was a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit, giving us the chance to enjoy delicious food and live music while touring an iconic San Angelo home.

“Open House is very special to us because, not only is it our longest running annual event, but it also comes at the time of year that personifies the compassion and community that encompasses Meals For The Elderly and those who support it,” said President and CEO Charlyn Ocker.

From 11 am till 3 pm on Sunday the 11th, the home WAS on display to guests of the event and the event will also showcase the culinary artistry of talented area chefs. All proceeds benefitted the homebound seniors in Tom Green County and Miles, TX, served by Meals For The Elderly.

This event was the last fundraiser in 2016, and with your support, it was one of the year’s most successful! In 1989, the event began as a vision of Suzanne Sugg, who was instrumental in the creation of the first Open House, beginning the tradition of annual home tours at her home on South David Street.

For the past 28 years, hundreds of patrons have enjoyed culinary delights prepared by area chefs and have experienced visiting some of the most beautiful homes in San Angelo. Since 1989, this fundraiser has provided 371,870 meals to those in need in our community.
